Friendship

Having an online presence of any kind makes me uneasy and anxious (I talk about this quite often haha). I’ve shared my thoughts, fears, passions, hopes—putting myself in a vulnerable place. And as frightening as this experience is for me, I feel so much gratitude for the abundance that has followed it.

Abundance of knowledge, invaluable and fortifying. Abundance of opportunities, thriving endeavors from modest ideas. Abundance of friendship, lifelong bonds forged through a love writing. Friendship, especially. And not only from tossing ideas for books and exchanging advice, but from growing closer through moments of success and hardship, big and small, outside of the writing realm. Real pain and struggles, real achievements and celebrations.

Taking the leap and embarking on my writing journey online has led me to meet the marvelous people I would not have met otherwise. People I speak to every day for hours. People who know me inside and out despite never having met me. I’m so thankful for the fellowship of writers who are also embarking on their own writing journey. Knowing I’m not alone in my pursuits makes my fears less daunting and sharing my writing less scary.

To my dear friends—thank you for believing in me. Thank you for uplifting me. You are truly such beautiful souls, and you all deserve the world.
